Yesterday I spent several cold, wet and sleety hours putting a duck extension on the chicken coop. As you can see it is crafted with the finest salvaged timber, be it from old projects or re-appropriated pallets, and finished with the purest finely woven chicken wire. The bijou duck run also boasts a covered windbreak with a faux-lakeside view to be implemented when the worlds axis tilts back towards the warmer bit of space.
Why? Because we’ve picked up two pairs of muscovy ducks, and one of them has already laid an egg today! They’re not the prettiest of things but they’re pretty tame, easy to keep and the best fly, bug and slug control that doesn’t come in a can.
